Join this introductory workshop to discover the Iyengar Yoga method, and meet our new teacher Melissa Proietti who will be taking over Sarah's classes while she's on maternity leave.

What is Iyengar Yoga?
Named after and developed by BKS Iyengar (1918-2014), it is a form of Hatha Yoga that has an emphasis on detail, precision and alignment in the performance of posture (asana) and breath control (pranayama). The development of strength, mobility and stability is gained through the asanas.
Iyengar Yoga often makes use of props, such as belts, blocks, and blankets, as aids in performing asanas (postures). The props enable students to perform the asanas correctly, minimising the risk of injury or strain, and making the postures accessible to both young and old.

BIOGRAPHY // Melissa Proietti
Melissa's yoga journey began in Venezuela at the age of 20, when she started attending regular Vinyasa and Ashtanga yoga classes and fell in love with this practice. Yoga then became a really important part of her life. She then moved to Spain where she taught for 7 years and enrolled in a 600 hour Teacher Training in Iyengar Yoga. She describes it as the deepest physical and emotional life-changing experience she's ever had. After moving to Kuwait in 2015 where she taught for a year, she is now based in Beirut.
