"The night after TKV Desikachar passed away, I had a dream where I was teaching a workshop called 'The Heart of Yoga' - named after his famous book as well as the first training I took in his school. I woke up immersed by a feeling of gratitude and a need to modestly share with others whatever little I have learned from studying under this lineage of teaching."

TKV Desikachar was the son and student of T. Krishnamacharya. Known as the grandfather of modern yoga, founder of the traditional vinyasa principle of intelligent sequencing and coordination of breath and movement, Krishnamacharya was also a a Vedic scholar and Ayurvedic healer. He revolutionized ancient yoga by adapting it to every individual's needs while remaining faithful to its philosophical and spiritual essence, and Desikachar developed and systematized his methods and spread his legacy to the world. (Among Krishnamacharya's students were Pattabhi Jois, B.K.S. Iyengar, Indra Devi..., and TKV Desikachar taught other great personalities such as Jiddu Krishnamurti and Vanda Scaravelli.)
