The neck acts as a gateway between the trunk and the head, supporting the The neck acts as a gateway between the trunk and the head, supporting the cranium - the heaviest part of the body - and allowing flexibility of movement for a variety of viewpoints. It is often very neglected in yoga poses, and not acknowledged as a core member of the longer back spine. In this workshop, we will study it anatomically, from core muscles to vertebrae structure. We will also examine the positioning of the neck in various yoga poses, including exercises to lengthen and strengthen this part of the body, following a safe alignment for a healthy cervical spine.
